SABBATICAL UPDATE

It doesn’t seem right to let the fortieth anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s historic proclamation pass without recognition of its theological relevance to this Growing in Christ ministry even though my sabbatical continues. I have set personal goals for which the attainment of will determine the end of my time off, rather than setting a specific time frame. Progress is being made, and I thank those who continue to offer their support and encouragement during this time of reflection and meditation.

There are new postings on the Bulletin Board. I urge you to spend some time reading what’s there, to respond to it, and to perhaps offer your own contribution. It is frustrating to know of the wisdom and intelligence that comprise this virtual community of faith, but not to know the reasons why so few choose to participate actively in the theological forum that exists here. Even if you do not wish to share your thoughts on this matter “publicly,” I would greatly value hearing from you via e-mail.

If you have found anything in the sermons archive (located at the bottom of the Sermons page) that you have found to be particularly helpful or meaningful, I would appreciate learning of that as well. One benefit of going to the various pages is that it brings up a new banner quotation with each change of location (this can also be accomplished by pressing the “refresh” icon on your browser).

GiC’s webmaster, Matt Piper, has introduced his “new and improved” website which I think you’ll find interesting and entertaining. Be sure to take a look at: http://www.mybuddyquiz.com/
