Volume 3 Issue 12
This third anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy is a solemn occasion, and I offer my latest sermon, “Charley, Frances and God” as my contribution to the observance. We still have so much to learn about the cause, the response, and the effect of the event that forever changed our lives.

I am finding my current focus upon discovering and defining “pure” theology to be the most challenging and stimulating endeavor of my life. It easily deserves my full-time attention, something that is simply not possible in my present lay status. There is some comfort in realizing that there was little time (or demand) to devote to theology while I was an active pastor. The business of the church is religion, and that, for the most part, relegates bona fide theologizing to academia. In an unexpected way, it is very appropriate that I find myself pursuing the topic from the perspective of the everyman whom God reaches out to through the Christ. My method is an understandably lonely one, and I once again take the opportunity to reiterate my welcome for any sort of dialogue/correspondence with readers who are so inclined.
